About

Hi! I’m a US expat living in Oman, and this is where you can get all the basic news and latest info on my adjustment to life here. You can subscribe to the Blog, view pics and videos, ask questions, get updates, and find anything else I can think to put up here.

After two years in Haiti, it was time to leave the organization I was working with there, and move on to something else. I didn’t know what that would be when I left, but knew it was the right time to leave. As it turns out, I spent four months back in the US visiting family and looking for work. After a while, an opportunity opened up to go to Oman, and that’s where I am right now!

The desire to understand why people do what they do drove me to study anthropology in university. Through much involvement with community development on my university’s campus, in Washington DC, and in Haiti, my interests grew into a passion for working with people in developing areas; helping them figure out how to accomplish what they want to see happening in their communities. Along the way I’ve been able to see both victories and defeats, as each are common in the life of a growing community.

This is an effort to put my thoughts into words and share the things that I’m learning. Some posts may be more relevant to you than others. I hope that in this blog you will have yet another window through which to view the world, and that this will help create a means to engage in it with more depth, more compassion, and more desire for the One who loves and understands it best.
